About Us

Lydwood was established in 1964 when Robert Jones set up in business to manufacture Cedar wood home extensions. Soon afterwards the company branched into the manufacture of Sports Shields and Trophies, an activity still maintained today. The late 1960's led to more diversity with the manufacture of fruit machines and one-arm bandits !

In 1987 Robert's son Nick and his wife Georgie joined the business.  As Engineering graduates, with backgrounds in aerospace, they brought a new dimension to the Company and introduced state-of-the-art production technology into the woodworking field.

Lydwood is a woodworking company with a difference. Lydwood is run by engineers who appreciate tolerances and quality control. We even build our own computer controlled machines to cope with the most demanding large volume production.

Lydwood has built up a workforce who are extremely flexible in producing components with speed and accuracy.

All programming is produced quickly and efficiently using the latest software.  Files can be emailed in common CAD formats
