Generations
Lydwood was established in 1964 when Robert Jones began manufacturing Cedar wood home extensions.
He expanded into sports shields, trophies and the original one arm bandit fruit machine cabinets. Lydwood manufactured the first mass produced skateboards to be sold in the U.K.
In 1987 Robert's son Nick and his wife Georgie joined the family business to add a new dimension - CNC Routing. As Engineering graduates, with backgrounds in aerospace, they introduced state-of-the-art production technology into the woodworking field.
Nick & Georgie’s Daughter joined the team in 2021, to begin diversifying the business and the customer base. Emma is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and joins after working at Williams Grand Prix Engineering and Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1.

Unlike many other manufacturing companies, we have heavy duty and high-quality CNC routers and machinery. Our factory covers 9000 sq. ft. We pride ourselves on high quality products leaving our factory.

Our CNC routing capabilities are not just single head routing like our competitors! At Lydwood, we can manufacture components up to six at a time! This is perfect for large batch production and giving our customers competitive pricing.

Can We Help?
Lydwood can design, program and manufacture products. All Computer Aided Design and programming is undertaken in our design and production offices.
We have experience in one-off specialist reverse engineering restoration projects through to sub-assembly of products in a finished form and the mass production of wooden components.
Lydwood typically works business to business as a wooden component manufacturer from small batches through to mass production.
